Our shop, Atma Ram Mela Ram Steels Pvt. Ltd., is over at C-10 in the Focal Point area. It’s a pretty standard industrial layout around here. We have been a name in the steel business for a long time. People just call us the steel guys in this block of the Focal Point. The yard is usually full of inventory, so it can be a bit cramped when the trucks arrive for a pickup or a drop-off. We spend most of the morning just sorting through what came in and what needs to go out to our customers. It’s heavy work. You won’t find any air-conditioned showrooms here. It’s just the warehouse, some metal desks, and a lot of steel. The industrial area gets pretty loud during the day, which is fine since everyone is doing the same kind of work. We try to keep our records straight, though sometimes paper gets lost under a pile of invoices or steel samples. It happens when things get busy. We aren’t some big corporation with hundreds of offices all over the place. It’s just this one spot where we manage everything. The guys working the yard know their stuff. Most of them have been with the company for years. We just focus on the metal and making sure the counts are right. It’s a basic business. No fluff. Just stacks of steel and a lot of loading and unloading. If the gates are open, we’re working.
