Arora Sweet Shop

We are located in Mullanpur, right where the main street gets a bit busy. Arora Sweet Shop is basically a family thing. My father started it, and now we just keep it going. It’s not a very large space, so things can get a bit crowded when people are waiting for their orders. We make everything right here in the back room. You can usually smell the frying from down the block. We don't use any fancy machines, just big iron pans and wooden spoons. It takes a lot of time to get the consistency of the sweets just right. Some days the batch comes out better than others, but that’s just how it goes when you’re doing it by hand. We have some old benches for people to sit on, though most folks just take their bags and head home. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we are usually too busy with the cooking to worry about that. Mullanpur is a quiet place mostly, so we know everyone who comes through the door. We hear all the local gossip while we weigh out the portions. It’s a good way to spend the day. We don't have a website or anything like that. If you want to see what we have, you just have to walk in. We keep it pretty simple and don't try to do too much. It is just a local business for local people.
