Amar Sweets Shop

Mullanpur is where we have been for years. The shop is a simple place where we spend most of our waking hours. Every morning, we start by checking the stock and getting the fires going. Making sweets is a lot of work and it takes a lot of patience. You can't really rush it if you want it to come out right. We have a small team here and everyone knows their job. Some of us have been working together for a long time. Mullanpur is the kind of town where everyone knows everyone else. So, when people walk in, we usually know what they are going to ask for before they even say it. We don't have a fancy website or anything like that. People just walk in off the street when they see the door is open. The floor is concrete and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but the kitchen is where the real work happens. It's often loud with the sound of large pans clanking and the fans running to keep the heat away. We don't use any modern machines for a lot of the work; we still do most things by hand. It keeps us busy and it keeps the tradition going in our little corner of the world. It is just an honest way to make a living in a place we call home. We don't ask for much, just a steady day of work and happy customers.
