Aarti Steels Limited

If you head over to Focal Point in Phase 4, you’ll find the Aarti Steels Limited plant. It’s a big area, and it’s always busy with trucks coming in and out at all hours. We deal with steel on a pretty large scale, so the place is always loud and there’s a lot of heat coming off the lines. It’s not the kind of place you’d want to wear a nice suit to. I spend a lot of my time walking the floor, checking on the different sections and making sure everyone has what they need. The dust can get pretty thick, especially when we’re moving things around. We’ve got a lot of heavy machinery that requires a lot of looking after, otherwise, things grind to a halt pretty fast. It’s a tough business, and the prices of raw materials change so fast it’ll make your head spin. We have guys who have been here since the machines were brand new. The tea break is the most important part of the day, honestly. Everyone sits down for fifteen minutes and the whole place finally goes quiet. We aren't trying to be the biggest, we just want to get the loads out on time so the customers don't complain too much. It's hard work, and by the time I get home, I’m usually exhausted. But there’s something about seeing those trucks loaded up that feels right at the end of a shift.
