The Kalika Hut Restaurant

The Kalika Hut Restaurant is located in the Yadav Commercial Complex along Faizabaad Road in Lucknow. Being right beside Tunday Kababi means there are always people walking by our door, which keeps things interesting. Most of the day is spent doing prep work, sitting in the back peeling onions or checking the stock. It’s a simple place, honestly. We don’t have fancy lighting or expensive rugs, just basic tables and chairs that get the job done. The walls might need a fresh coat of paint soon, but for now, they hold up fine. Lucknow heat can be something else, so we’re always fiddling with the fans to keep the air moving for whoever is sitting inside. We see a mix of locals and travelers who are just passing through this part of the city. Sometimes we run out of certain ingredients by the evening, and we just have to tell people we're out of luck for the day. It’s just how it goes when you’re small. Our staff is mostly local guys who live nearby, so there is a lot of chatting in the kitchen about cricket or the weather. We aren't trying to win any awards; we just want to make sure the food is hot and the plates are clean. It’s a lot of routine work, day in and day out, but we’ve got a rhythm that works for us.
