St Christ Public Inter College

If you go to Azad Nagar in Lucknow, you will find St Christ Public Inter College. It has been sitting in this part of the city for many years. The school is an inter college, so we have a wide range of ages walking through the doors every day. The building has that old Lucknow feel to it, with thick walls and high ceilings that help a bit with the summer heat. We have a central courtyard where everyone gathers for the morning assembly. It can get pretty loud when several hundred kids are all talking at once before the teachers show up. The desks in the classrooms are the heavy wooden kind, some of them have names carved into them from students who left years ago. We don't try to hide the age of the place; it’s part of the character. Azad Nagar is a busy residential area, so we are surrounded by houses and small shops. Many of our students just walk to school from the nearby streets. The staff room is a busy place where there is always a pot of tea and someone grading papers. We don't have a lot of flashy equipment, but we have enough blackboards and chalk to go around. It’s a simple, honest school that has been doing the same thing for a long time. We just focus on the daily routine of bells, lessons, and lunch breaks, making sure everything runs as it should.
