Shrivastava Bhojnalaya

Shrivastava Bhojnalaya is tucked away in Sanjay Gandhi Puram, over in the Indira Nagar area of Lucknow. We are quite close to Lekhraj Market, so we get a lot of people who are exhausted from shopping or working in the stalls there. A bhojnalaya is meant to be a place for a simple, home-style meal, and that is exactly what we do. We don't have a menu that changes every week. It is mostly the same familiar dishes that people grew up eating. The plates are stainless steel and the water is served in metal tumblers. We have been here for a few years now. The building is just a standard ground-floor setup. It can get a bit cramped during the lunch hour when the office workers from Indira Nagar all arrive at once. We don't spend any money on advertising. Most people find us because they want a meal that doesn't cost too much and tastes like it was made in a proper kitchen. I spend my time making sure the groceries are fresh and the place stays reasonably clean. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the front door during the monsoon, but we just put a bucket there and keep going. It’s a small, family-run kind of thing. We just want to serve people their food and keep the business running quietly. Nothing fancy, just daily meals.
