Scholars Home is tucked away in Vipul Khand III, which is a fairly quiet part of Gomti Nagar if you ignore the morning school run. The building isn't the biggest, but we make use of every corner we have. We’ve got kids coming in from all over the neighborhood, and the street gets pretty lined up with rickshaws and cars around eight. Inside, it’s mostly the sound of fans humming and teachers talking. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint in a few spots, but they’re covered in student drawings mostly. We don't have a giant campus, so things can feel a bit close together, but it works for us. The office is always full of stacks of paper and old files that we need to sort through. We spend a lot of time just making sure the kids aren't running too fast in the hallways. It’s a practical place. We don't have a lot of high-tech stuff, just the basics that you need to get through a school day. Sometimes the water cooler acts up, or we have to remind the gardener about the hedges, but that’s just life in a local school. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road, which is nice because it keeps the dust down a little bit. We just keep things moving along day by day without any unnecessary drama.
