Alambagh is always a busy place, and our college is right in the middle of that Lucknow hustle. We’ve been here for a good number of years now, mostly focusing on shorthand and typing. It is a very old-school setup. We have rows of those older typewriters that make a lot of noise when everyone is practicing at once. It’s a sound you get used to after a while. Most people come here because they want a job in a government office or maybe some secretarial work. We don't have any air conditioning, just the big ceiling fans that hum all day. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but the machines are what matter, and we keep those in good shape. Students drop in for their hourly slots. Some are very quick, others take their time to learn the finger placements. It is not just about the typing though; we have a few computers now for the basic courses people ask for. We don't bother with big advertisements or fancy brochures. People just find us by walking past the sign in Alambagh or hearing about us from a neighbor. It’s a simple, honest place where you come to put in the work and get your certificate. We see all kinds of folks, from young kids just out of school to older people trying to learn a new skill. R K Commercial College is just a regular part of the neighborhood here.
