Punjabi Restaurant

We are situated at Shop no 32 on Kanpur Road, which is right by the Charbagh Railway Station in Lucknow. If you know the area, we are quite close to the Nattha Chauraha, which is one of the busiest spots in the whole city. Being so close to the trains means our day starts very early. We see people dragging big suitcases and looking at their watches every five minutes. The shop is small and can get pretty crowded when a big train arrives at the station. We have basic benches and the walls are mostly covered with calendars or simple menus. It is not a place for a quiet conversation because the sound of horns and rickshaws from the road is always coming through the door. We don't have any fancy air conditioning, just a couple of wall fans that push the air around. The kitchen is right at the back and you can see the steam coming off the big pots from the front counter. We go through a lot of tea and small snacks throughout the day. The furniture is heavy and built to last because so many people move through here every hour. It is a bit of a chaotic spot, but that is just life near Charbagh. We keep the floor swept and the water cold for whoever walks in off the street looking for a meal.
