Pragya Balika Inter College

Pragya Balika Inter College is over in Chinhat, which is a part of Lucknow that is growing pretty fast. Being a girls' college, we have a lot of responsibility to the families around here. The gates open early, and by eight o’clock, the place is full of chatter. It is a plain building, nothing too special to look at from the outside, but it is home to us. We have classrooms that get plenty of sun in the winter, which is nice because it can get cold in Lucknow. The teachers here are mostly locals who have been with us for years. We don't have fancy computer labs with the latest gadgets, but we have the basics and we make them work. We focus on the subjects that matter for the inter exams. Sometimes the fans rattle a bit too much, and we have to get someone in to fix them. It is a regular school day every day. We deal with the usual things like late students or lost pens. It is not about being the most famous school; it is just about being here for the girls in Chinhat so they can get their education without having to travel too far. We do our best with what we have, and that seems to be enough for the folks who send their daughters here. It is just a community school run by people who live right here.
