Nishtha Restaurant

Down on C-Block Road in Indira Nagar, you can find our place, Nishtha Restaurant. Lucknow is a big city, but Indira Nagar feels like its own little world sometimes. We've been here in the 226016 area for a while now, and we've seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. Our restaurant is just a straightforward place to get a meal. We don't have any of those modern decorations or fancy lighting. The chairs might not all match perfectly, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but the kitchen is always busy. We focus on making the kind of food that people in this neighborhood grew up eating. It is mostly the same people coming in every week, so we know most of them by name. We don't do any big marketing campaigns. We just put a chalkboard outside with what we're cooking that day. Sometimes we run out of things if a big group shows up unannounced, but we just do our best. Running a small restaurant means you're always doing five things at once. One minute you're taking an order, and the next you're helping wash dishes because the helper didn't show up. It's tiring work, but it keeps us going. We just want to be a reliable spot on C-Block Road where people can get a plate of food and a glass of water without any trouble. The noise from Indira Nagar can be a lot, especially during the festival season. We just turn up the radio.
