King George Inter College

We are based in the Chinhat area of Lucknow. If you’re familiar with this side of the city, you’ll know it’s a place that’s always moving. King George Inter College sits right in the thick of things. It’s an inter college, so we have students from the middle years up through their final school exams. The building is an old one, with those thick walls that stay a bit cooler in the Lucknow heat, though we still rely heavily on the ceiling fans. It’s a very down-to-earth place. There’s no big corporate office or fancy reception area here. You just walk in and find the staff room or the classrooms. We have a lot of students who travel quite a distance to get here, while others just walk from the nearby lanes. The street outside can be a bit of a mess with traffic and noise, but once you’re inside the gates, it’s all about the books and the lessons. We don’t have any big mission statements hanging on every wall; we just get on with the teaching every day. You’ll see the kids hanging out near the local tea stalls after the final bell rings in the afternoon. We've been a part of the Chinhat landscape for a long time, and we just keep doing what we’ve always done. It’s a simple, local school for local people, and we don’t try to be anything else.
