In the Govind Vihar Colony of Chinhat, you will find G N International Academy. Lucknow is a big city, but this corner feels a bit more like a community. The school sits among houses and local shops. When you walk in, you see the open area where the kids gather for their morning routine. It’s not a huge campus, but we make use of every bit of space we have. The classrooms are simple, with regular wooden desks and blackboards that get dusty from the chalk. Teachers here walk to work or take local transport. They know the kids’ names and which ones are likely to be daydreaming during math. During the hot Lucknow summers, the fans run at full speed, and the kids look forward to the water breaks. We don’t have a lot of fancy equipment, but we have the basics for science and sports. The gatekeeper knows most of the parents who come to pick up their children in the afternoon.
