Abhinav Girls College

Our college is located at 67 Kursi Road, which is right in the Vikas Nagar part of Lucknow. If you know this area, you know that the traffic on Kursi Road can be a real headache during the morning rush. We see the students arriving in groups, some coming from quite far away in Lucknow to get here. The building has been here for a while, and it shows its age in some spots, but it’s a solid place. We have classrooms that get a bit warm in the summer, so the fans are always going full blast. Working here, you get used to the constant hum of the city outside and the sound of chatter in the hallways between classes. It is strictly for girls, so it has a different kind of atmosphere than the co-ed places nearby. We mostly just deal with the daily stuff like checking the registers and making sure the classrooms are unlocked on time. The area around Vikas Nagar 226022 is full of shops and little eateries, so there is always somewhere for the staff to grab a quick tea. It isn’t a glamorous job, but we like being part of the neighborhood. It’s a simple routine that has worked for us for a long time. We have a few old wooden benches in the courtyard where the students sit and talk, and those are always the first thing you see when you walk in. The gates stay open until the last lecture is over, and then we lock up and head home like everyone else.
