Srujan Organic Farmer Producer Company Limited

Most days start pretty early for us here in Latur. We’re a bunch of local farmers who decided it made more sense to work together than try to handle everything alone. Our main spot is over at 2814, A, Holkar Nagar. It isn’t some big fancy glass office or anything like that, just a place where we can sit down, have some tea, and figure out the plans for the next season. Being an organic producer company means we spend a lot of time talking about soil and how to keep things growing without all the heavy chemicals people usually use. It’s hard work, and sometimes the weather doesn’t play along, but that’s just how farming goes. We’ve got our hands in the dirt most of the time. When we aren't in the fields, we are back at the Holkar Nagar address trying to keep the paperwork straight, which is probably the hardest part for us. People in the neighborhood know where to find us. We just want to get good food out to people and make sure the farmers get a fair shake at the end of the day. It’s not about getting rich, it’s about making sure the land stays healthy for the kids who will take over later. We don’t have any fancy speeches, just some honest work and a lot of hope that the rain comes when it is supposed to. That’s pretty much us.
