We are over at Dolohat No 30 FC Grant in Lakhimpur. Ranganadi Fed Bamboo Producer Company Limited is mostly about the folks here who work with bamboo and other local crops. Bamboo grows well around here, but selling it for a good price is always the tricky part. We decided to stop trying to do it all individually and started working as a group instead. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and getting your hands scratched up. Lakhimpur can be a tough place to work, especially with the heat and the rain we get. We don’t have a polished front office. Our work happens out in the open or in small sheds. We are just regular people who have grown up seeing bamboo everywhere and figured we should make the most of it. We talk to each other about which parts of the land are producing the best and how we can get our stuff to the buyers without spending too much on transport. It’s a lot of trial and error. Some days things go wrong and we just have to start over. We don't have a mission statement or a fancy logo. We just have the bamboo and the people who know how to cut it and prepare it. It’s a hard way to make a living, but it’s what we have here at Dolohat. We just keep at it because the work needs doing.
