Dhal-Ghagar Farmers Producer Company Limited

Dhal-Ghagar Farmers Producer Company Limited is based out of North Lakhimpur. Our main office is actually just a room at Tarun Chandra Mahanta’s house on Azad Road. We are in Ward No. 11. It’s a pretty central location for us. Being in town helps because we are close to the shops and the post office, but our hearts are really out in the fields where the farming happens. We are a group of people who wanted to see if we could do better by working as a team. We deal with all sorts of things, from grains to vegetables, depending on what the season is. It’s not a fancy life. We spend a lot of time on the phone or meeting in person to talk about truck loads and market rates. Sometimes we argue about the best way to do things, but we usually figure it out. We aren't looking to become famous or anything like that. We just want to make sure the farmers in our group can support their families without so much stress. The work is constant. Even when the harvest is done, there is always something to clean or fix or plan for the next year. It’s just how it is around here in Lakhimpur. If you are walking down Azad Road, you might see us at Tarun’s place, probably drinking tea and looking at some paperwork. That’s just who we are, trying to make things work.
