Chowkighat Farmer Producer Company Limited is located right at the Kanyaka Diary Farm in Jamugurihat. Since we are at a dairy farm, you can imagine there is a lot of noise from the cows and plenty of work to do every single morning. It is not a desk job. We are usually busy with the animals or managing the feed. A group of us decided to put this company together so we could handle the farming and dairy side of things as a team. Jamugurihat is a good place for this kind of work, but it keeps you on your toes. There are no holidays when you have livestock to look after. We don't have a big corporate office; we just use the space we have at the farm. You’ll find us in our work clothes most of the time, probably dealing with a broken fence or checking on the milk production. It is a straightforward life, and we don't try to make it sound like anything else. We just want to produce good food and take care of our animals properly. Sometimes it is stressful when things go wrong, but we have each other to help out. It’s a real community effort here at the farm. We are just regular people working the land and looking after our cows every day. The morning starts early here.
