Rampur Ankur Tea Producer Company Limited

Our little setup is located at Vill No 2 Rampur. It’s near the Dharamgarh post office in Lakhimpur. Most of the people involved in this company grew up right here. We have been surrounded by tea bushes for as long as I can remember. This company isn't anything fancy or corporate. It’s just a way for us local growers to handle our tea together instead of doing it all alone. We spend most of our mornings out in the garden. The sun gets really hot around noon, so we try to get the heavy work done early. Tea is a funny thing because it depends so much on the rain. If the monsoon is late, we all get a bit worried. We have a small office in the village where we keep our records. It’s usually just a couple of us sitting there with a fan running. We don’t really use big machines for everything. A lot of it is still done by hand because that’s how we learned it. People in Lakhimpur know us, and we know them. It’s a small community. We don't have any big goals to take over the market. We just want to produce decent tea and make sure the families here are doing okay. Sometimes the transport is a headache because the trucks take forever to arrive. But we just deal with it as it comes. It’s a simple life.
