We have been here at Plot No. 110/4 for quite a while now. It is Sector No. 2 in Gandhidham, right in the heart of Kachchh. People around here know us as Amity Minerals. The yard gets pretty dusty when the trucks roll in, but that’s just part of the job when you are dealing with minerals. Most days start early before it gets too hot to breathe comfortably. We spend a lot of time checking the loads and making sure the bags are stacked right so they don't tip over. It’s not fancy work. My desk is usually covered in papers and some rock samples from the latest batch we brought in. We don't have a big marketing department or anything like that. It’s just us doing the daily grind. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to sit outside for a bit. You get used to the rhythm of the sector. There's a tea stall nearby where everyone goes around four o’clock. Gandhidham is a busy place, always something moving towards the port. We just try to keep up with our part of it. The guys in the back have been with us for years. They know the machines better than I do. We just keep the wheels turning. If you come by, you'll probably see a couple of trucks waiting out front. It gets a bit crowded on the street, but we manage. That’s pretty much the story of our shop.
