Minerals Oriental Industries / North West Minerals

Operating out of Plot No. 707-709 in the Gidc Estate means we have a decent amount of space, but it never feels like enough once the raw minerals start arriving. We have piles of stones and bags of powder sitting in almost every corner. It’s a dusty business, and everything we own seems to have a thin layer of white grit on it no matter how much we sweep. We handle both the Minerals Oriental Industries and North West Minerals sides of the work from here, which can get confusing with the paperwork sometimes. The grinders are old but they still do the job if you treat them right. We usually start early in the morning before the heat gets too bad because the tin roof doesn’t do much to keep the temperature down. Most of our day is spent checking the mesh sizes and making sure the bags are tied shut properly so they don't leak during transport. The yard outside is always full of cycles and a couple of old scooters belonging to the staff. We don't have fancy signs or anything like that. If you are looking for us, just look for the place with the most dust near the gate. It's practical work for people who don't mind getting their hands dirty and staying late to finish a big crush. We just get through the piles of rocks one day at a time.
