We do our work out of Mundra in the Kutch district. Our small office is located on Old Bunder Road, which is pretty close to where the Laxmi Talkies used to be in the old days. Working with mines and minerals means that things are often very dusty and the weather out here is usually quite hot. We spend a significant amount of our time looking at different rocks and checking soil samples. It is a different kind of life being out here near the coast. The port is quite close, which is helpful for moving materials, but the actual work happens out in the fields. We are not a big corporate group with people in suits; we are usually wearing boots and covered in a fair bit of dirt. The office is the place where we keep all the logs and keep track of what is being dug up each day. Kutch is a tough place to work sometimes because the sun is so strong, but we have gotten a good rhythm down. We see a lot of heavy trucks coming and going from the site all day long. Sometimes we have to deal with some equipment breaking down at the worst possible time. It is just part of the job that we have accepted. We have been in this same spot for a while, and the local people know us. There is no fancy lobby here, just a place to sit and have some water and talk about the day.
