Zphs Nandavaram School

Zphs Nandavaram School is out in Nandavaram, which is part of the Banganapalli area. If you come down the main road into the village, you will see us. The school has been here for years and it shows in some of the walls. We have many students who walk in from the surrounding fields and smaller houses. It gets quite dusty here when the wind picks up, so we are always dusting off the benches and the teachers' desks. The rooms are large with high ceilings to help with the heat in Banganapalli. During the rainy season, things get a bit muddy around the entrance, but the kids don't seem to mind much. We have a routine that we follow every single day. Morning assembly, then classes, then the mid-day meal which is always a busy time. The teachers here mostly come from nearby towns. We use chalk and blackboards because that is what we have. It is a simple place where we try to teach the basics to whoever shows up. Sometimes we have to send someone out to call a student back to class if they are lingering too long by the gate. It is a government school, so things move at a steady, slow pace. We just focus on the lessons and making sure everyone has a place to sit. There is always someone fixing a desk or cleaning the chalkboards after the final bell rings.
