About Zilla Parishad High School – Education in Kurnool
Zilla Parishad High School is located out on the outskirts of Kodumur in the Kurnool district. It’s been sitting there for quite a long time, serving the families who live in the surrounding rural patches. The building itself is nothing too special to look at, just a sturdy structure with a few wings for the different grades. Most of the kids walk here or come in on old buses from the smaller villages nearby. You can see them every morning in their uniforms, kicking up a bit of dust as they head toward the main gate. The playground is mostly dirt and stone, which gets really hot in the summer months, but that doesn't stop the boys from playing a bit of cricket during their break time. We have the usual classrooms with wooden benches that have seen better days. The teachers here are mostly from this area, so they know the families well. Sometimes the rain makes the road a bit difficult to manage, but the school stays open. There’s a small office near the entrance where we keep all the records and where parents come to talk. It is a very plain setup with no fancy equipment or air conditioning. We just focus on getting through the lessons every day. The school bell is a heavy iron piece that someone hits with a hammer to let everyone know when the periods are over. It’s just a normal, hardworking school for the local community in Kurnool.
