Sushanth Marbles

We’re located on Old Police Line Street in Batemcherla. The address is H-12/35, though people just look for the stacks of stone. It’s a quiet enough street, but we stay busy. We handle a lot of marble every day. The work involves a lot of lifting and shifting. We’ve got different blocks and slabs leaning against the walls and out in the open space. It’s mostly a local operation. People from around Batemcherla know the spot. We don't have a big showroom with lights and air conditioning. It’s just the workshop and the storage area. You can usually find us with a cup of tea in the morning before the heavy work starts. The stone is heavy and cold, especially in the winter months. We take our time to check each piece for cracks or marks. It’s not something you can rush. The street outside doesn't get too much through traffic, which makes it easier to load the trucks. We’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years, but we’re still here doing the same thing. It’s dusty work, and our clothes usually show it by the end of the day. We don’t have a website or anything like that. If someone wants to see what we have, they just walk in. We show them the slabs, tell them the price, and that’s about it. It is a simple way of doing things.
