Santhiram Medical College

This college is situated right on National Highway 18 in the Kurnool district. Because it's on the highway, we get people stopping by from all over the region. It’s a big campus, and you can’t really miss it if you’re driving past. We have several buildings for different departments and hostels for the students who live here. The wind blows pretty hard across the open spaces sometimes, bringing in dust from the road. It’s a very active place. You’ll see buses and cars coming and going all day long. The staff is used to the fast pace. We have our own canteen where most people eat, and it’s usually the loudest place on campus. The facilities are basic but they do the job. It’s not like those private clinics in the city; it’s a proper medical college with all the chaos that comes with it. We have a lot of land, so there’s room to move around, even if it’s just to walk between classes. The Kurnool heat is something you just have to deal with. Most of us have been here for years and we’ve seen the place grow bit by bit. It’s a solid part of the local area. We don’t try to be anything we’re not. It’s just a place for learning and helping people who need it. Most days we are just trying to keep up with the schedule.
