We are over here on Compa Road in Manali. It’s right across from the monastery, so we get to hear the chanting sometimes when it is quiet enough outside. Jagrititour.Com is just our small spot where we sit and figure out where people want to go. It isn't a fancy office with big leather chairs or anything like that. We just have some desks and a lot of maps laying around the place. Usually, someone is here by nine in the morning, making tea and checking the phone for messages. The weather changes fast in these mountains, so we spend a lot of time talking about the roads and if the passes are actually open. People come in looking for a car or just asking how to get to the next town over without getting lost. We try to keep things simple. If a car is ready and the driver is there, it’s ready. If the snow is too deep, we just tell people to wait a day. It gets busy during the summer months and the noise from the street can get a bit much, but we like being in the middle of it. Sometimes the internet is slow, so we just talk to the travelers while we wait for the pages to load. We’ve been at this for a while now and know most of the drivers around here by their first names.
