Fama Boards & Plywoods

Out here on Jayanthi Road in Calicut, we’ve got our shop set up. Fama Boards & Plywoods is a local spot where we handle all sorts of timber and wood products. Nallalam is a quiet enough area, which is nice for a business like ours. We have stacks of plywood and boards everywhere. It smells like sawdust most of the time, which is something you just get used to. We help local builders and people fixing up their homes. It’s not a high-tech operation. We mostly just measure things out, talk about the different grades of wood, and help load up the trucks. Sometimes we run out of a certain thickness and have to wait for the next delivery, which can be annoying for the customers. We try to be honest about that. It’s a small team here. We know most of the people who come through the door by their first names. Calicut has a long history with timber, and we’re just a small part of that tradition today. We don’t have a website that’s updated every day or anything like that. We just focus on what’s in front of us. If you need some plywood for a project, we’re usually here from morning until the sun goes down. It gets pretty hot in the warehouse in the afternoons, so we usually take a slow break then. We just take life one plank at a time.
