You can find us at Savo Sadan on M.M. Ali Road. Gharana Exports Pvt. Ltd. operates out of this building, and it’s usually a bit of a scramble inside. We deal with a lot of different items for export, so there are always crates and packing materials lying around. The building itself is an older one, Savo Sadan has some character but the stairs are a bit narrow when you’re carrying boxes. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone to write fancy letters. We just spend our time talking to suppliers and making sure the shipping schedules are met. M.M. Ali Road is always congested, so we spend a lot of time watching for the delivery vans to fight their way through traffic. It’s not a glamorous job. There’s a lot of tape, bubble wrap, and black markers involved. We have a small office space where three or four of us sit, mostly hunched over desks or on the phone. Sometimes we forget to eat lunch because a shipment is late or a document is missing. It’s a bit chaotic but we’ve gotten used to the pace. We don't put on a show for anyone. If you come by, you’ll see us exactly as we are, likely surrounded by stacks of paper and half-taped cartons. It's an honest day's work and we’ve been at it for years now. We like the neighborhood, even with all the noise outside.
