Raja Pan Palace

We’ve been here at the Gumanpura Teen Batti Circle for quite some time now. Most people around Dadabadi know our little spot because it’s right where the traffic picks up. It is not a big place, just a simple counter where we keep the leaves and the different mixtures ready. We open up early and stay until the streets get quiet at night. People stop their bikes or cars just for a minute to get something after their dinner. It gets busy during the evening hours when everyone is out for a walk. We don't have fancy decorations or anything. There is just the usual smell of betel leaves and the sounds of the circle outside. Some regulars come every single day, and we know exactly what they want before they even say it. It’s a lot of standing and talking to neighbors who pass by. The weather gets hot in the summer, but we stay under the shade here at Raja Pan Palace. We just try to keep things clean and serve whoever walks up to the window. It is just a small part of the daily routine for people living around here. Sometimes we run out of specific ingredients if the morning supply is late, but that is just how it goes. We don't do anything special, just the same work day after day. It keeps us busy and connected to the Gumanpura area.
