Marriage Bureaus

Running a place like Marriage Bureaus in Gumanpura keeps us pretty busy. We spend most of our afternoons talking to parents who are worried about their kids finding the right person. Our office is just a simple setup where we keep all the files and folders of people looking for a match. It’s not fancy at all. We sit down with a cup of tea and go through the photos and the details people bring in. Gumanpura is a place where everyone knows everyone, so news travels fast. We try to keep things quiet and just focus on matching up what people are asking for. It’s a lot of listening, honestly. People tell us about their families and what they hope for in a partner. Sometimes it feels like we are just a part of the neighborhood, seeing the same faces come in and out. We don’t have some big secret method. We just look at the profiles and see if anything clicks. Some days are slow and we just tidy up the files, while other days the phone won't stop ringing. It’s honest work and it gets us involved with the community. We don’t promise anything impossible, we just show people who is available and let them decide. The files are stacked high on the shelves and we spend a lot of time updating them. It’s just us here in Gumanpura, doing what we can to help families get together and talk things through.
