Tents, poles, big cooking pots, and stacks of plates are everywhere you look. It’s a bit of a maze inside if you don't know your way around. When people have a wedding or a big party, they come to us to get what they need. We spend a lot of time loading and unloading trucks at the curb. My back gets sore sometimes, but that’s just the nature of the business. Keshav Market is a lively place to be. We’ve been at number 27 for years and we know just about everyone on this block. The pots need a lot of cleaning and we’re always checking the fabric of the tents for holes or tears. It’s constant work to keep it all ready. We don't have a fancy office for meetings. I usually just sit on a crate and do my accounts in a big ledger book with a pen. We don't use any of those new apps for booking dates. If you want something, you come talk to us in person and we write it down. It’s simple and we don't have many mistakes that way. Sometimes the kids from the neighborhood play around the stacks of chairs outside. We don't mind as long as they stay safe. It’s a family-run thing and we just keep going day by day.
