You can find Kitchen Shoppe over at Gumanpura in the Kalawati Paliwal Market, specifically at units 27-4 and 5. We carry all sorts of things for the house, mainly pots, pans, and pressure cookers. The shop is very full, so you have to be careful not to knock anything over when you walk through the aisles. We have stacks of steel plates and brass items that go all the way to the ceiling. It’s a family business, and I’ve been sitting at this counter for a long time now. People often come in with a broken handle or a missing whistle for their cooker, and we spend time finding the right spare part in our old wooden drawers. It’s not a modern showroom with bright lights. The floor is a bit worn out from all the people walking in and out over the years. Customers like to talk and bargain over the price of a tiffin box, and that’s just how it goes here. It gets very busy during the wedding season when people are buying gifts. We don't have a big marketing plan or anything. We just try to keep the items people need in stock. The market outside is always noisy, but once you’re inside with all the utensils, it feels like home. It is a simple way to spend the day, helping people find what they need for their kitchens.
