About Kamal Bartan Bhandar – Housewares & Supplies in Kota
Kamal Bartan Bhandar is located at Kota Junction on Station Road 18. This is a very hectic part of the city because of the railway station nearby. There is a constant flow of people carrying luggage and rickshaws honking at each other. Our shop is full of stainless steel, copper, and aluminum kitchenware. When the wind blows through the door, you can hear the light clinking of the metal spoons and plates. We have everything from giant cooking pots for weddings to small spice boxes for home kitchens. The shelves go all the way up to the ceiling, so we have to use a rickety metal ladder to reach the items on top. The floor is concrete and often has bits of straw from the packing crates we open. We've been here on Station Road for years, and the building itself is quite old with high ceilings and thick walls. We don't have any bright marketing posters, just the name of the shop painted on a board outside. Working near the junction means we meet people from all over who are just passing through and need a tiffin box or a water bottle for their journey. We keep the shop open late because the station never really sleeps. It's a tiring job sometimes, standing on our feet all day and moving heavy sets of utensils, but it is what we do. We just focus on keeping the stock organized and helping anyone who walks in.
