Hotel Meghraj

If you are coming off the train, we are right there on the Kota Junction Main Road. Hotel Meghraj is very close to the railway station, so you can hear the whistles and the announcements if you listen closely. The address is 324002. It's a high-traffic area. There are always rickshaws parked out front waiting for passengers. We have a lot of people coming in at odd hours because of the train schedules. Sometimes someone arrives at 3 AM, and we have to get up to give them a key. The lobby is small and mostly filled with the front desk. We have some tiles on the floor that are a bit chipped from people dragging their suitcases over them for years. The rooms are basic. We provide towels and soap, and that’s about it. The water in the pipes takes a minute to get warm, but it eventually does. We don’t have a fancy kitchen, so people usually go out to the stalls on the main road to get their food. It’s cheaper and easier for everyone. We spend a lot of time checking the registers and making sure the fans are working. Kota is a hot place, so those fans never really stop. It's a simple life running a place like this. We meet a lot of different people, but they usually only stay for a night or maybe two before they head out on the next train.
