Gareeb Nawaj Hotel

Gareeb Nawaj Hotel is situated right in the New Railway Colony in Kota. We are basically opposite the railway station, so we see people who are just getting off the trains at all hours of the day and night. The Main Road is always dusty from the construction and the buses passing by. Our shop is near Shakti Nagar Magit, and it’s a very humble setup. We have big pots of food cooking near the front so people can see what we have. The smell of the spices usually draws people in. The tables are just metal and wood, and they get wiped down a hundred times a day. It’s a noisy spot because of the trains whistling and the porters shouting outside. We don't have any air conditioning, just some big ceiling fans that hum all day. The workers here are mostly family or people we’ve known forever. We start the day very early, before the sun is even up, to get the first batch of food ready for the morning travelers. It’s a lot of hard work and the kitchen is always full of steam. We don't have a fancy menu card, we just tell people what is fresh. If you’re looking for something polished, this isn't it, but we have plenty of water and hot food for anyone who is hungry from their journey.
