Chamble Hardware & Paints

If you walk down Geeta Bhawan Road near the old Purani Sabji Mandi, you’ll find us. We’ve been at this location for a while now. It’s an old part of town, so things can get pretty crowded, especially on market days. Our shop, Chamble Hardware & Paints, is filled with all sorts of things like hammers, nails, and different types of paint. I spend a lot of time cleaning the shelves because the dust from the road always finds its way inside. It is a bit of a challenge to keep everything tidy with so many small items. We have stacks of pipes in one corner and rows of paint tins in another. I don't really have a big staff, just me and someone to help with the heavy lifting. People come here when they are fixing a leak or painting a door. We talk about the weather or how the local market is doing while they wait. It’s a very hands-on kind of job. I’ve learned a lot about what works for the houses in this neighborhood. The building we are in is quite old, but it stays cool in the summer. We don't have a website or any of that. If someone needs something, they just walk in and ask. It’s simple and it gets the job done. I like being part of the old market area; there is always something happening outside the front door.
