Our office is on the first floor of the Vijay Namkeen Bhandar Building, right at the Main Chawani Choraha. It’s actually a pretty easy place to find because almost everyone knows the namkeen shop downstairs. The smell of frying snacks usually wafts up to our floor throughout the day, which can make you quite hungry before lunch even rolls around. Chawani Choraha is a major junction, so there is always a lot of traffic and activity right outside our windows. We are a trading outfit, so our space is mostly filled with ledgers, samples, and the sounds of people talking on the phone about orders. The rooms aren't very big, and we have stacks of papers and boxes in the corners that have been there for a while. It’s a functional place, not a showroom, so things are a bit cluttered and messy in a way that feels comfortable to us. We’ve been operating out of this building for years and have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. The staff here is small, and we mostly just focus on getting the day's trading done so we can head home. Sometimes the noise from the intersection gets loud, especially during the evening rush hour, but we just turn up the fan and keep going. It’s a very local, down-to-earth kind of setup where we don't put on any acts for anyone. We just work from this one spot above the snack shop.
