Aashirwad Hardware & General Store

It’s been quite a few years since we started running Aashirwad Hardware & General Store here in Anantpura. Being right on Jhalawar Road in Kota means there’s always something going on outside the door. Most days start early, usually getting the shutters up before the sun gets too high because Rajasthan heat is no joke. People stop by for all sorts of things, maybe a specific size of bolt for a repair or just some daily stuff like soap and washing powder. We try to keep the shelves stocked with what neighbors actually need. Sometimes a plumber comes in looking for a pipe fitting, and other times it’s a student needing something small for their room. The shop isn't fancy or anything. It's just a regular place with a lot of different items squeezed onto the shelves. We know where most things are, though every now and then we have to hunt for a specific tool at the back. Living and working in the 324001 area has its rhythm. You get to know the regulars and what they usually ask for. It’s a lot of standing and moving boxes, but that’s just how it is. Sometimes we sit on the wooden stool when it’s quiet and watch the traffic go by on the main road. If you're passing through Anantpura, you'll see us there. It's just a simple shop trying to stay useful for the people living around here. Nothing more to it really. Just daily work and keeping the inventory moving.
