A S Bricks Works

A S Bricks Works is located at number 37 in Kannamallur. It is a small setup, just a bit of land and the kilns we use to bake the bricks. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles here. Most of our day is spent moving earth, filling up the molds, and tending to the fire. Kannamallur is a quiet place, and our yard is one of the more active spots during the dry season. We work according to the seasons because the rain can really mess up the raw bricks before they are fired. There are always stacks of finished bricks lining the edge of the property, waiting for someone to come and load them onto a cart or a small truck. It is a tough way to earn a living, with the heat and the smoke, but it is what we know. We don't have any fancy sales tactics or a big marketing budget. Usually, someone just stops their bike or truck at the gate and asks how much a thousand bricks will cost them. We talk to our neighbors and the local builders, and that is how we get most of our work. It’s a very manual process, and our hands are always stained with the color of the clay. We’ve been at this for a while now at our spot in Kannamallur, just keeping the fires going and making sure we have enough stock for whoever needs it.
