World Vision Welfare Foundation

World Vision Welfare Foundation is tucked away on the 7th floor of a building at 2A Ganesh Chandra Avenue. We are specifically in Room 1, Cabin 5. It is a busy part of the city, so there is always a lot of noise from the street below. Being up on the 7th floor gives us a bit of a break from the traffic, though. We have been working from this small cabin for some time now. It is not a huge space, just enough for a couple of desks and some files. We handle various welfare tasks for folks who find their way to us. Most of our visitors are people from the surrounding neighborhoods who heard about us from a friend. We do not do any big advertising. We just focus on the people who walk through our door. Managing a foundation from a small office in a big city building has its challenges. Elevators do not always work, and the hallways can be cramped. But we make it work. We spend our time checking through applications and talking to those in need. It is straightforward, no-nonsense work. We do not try to look like a big international corporation. We are just a local foundation trying to do some good from a small cabin in Kolkata. Every day brings something different, whether it is a new face at the door or a stack of papers to sort. We just keep plugging away at it.
