Upekha Micro Services Foundation

Upekha Micro Services Foundation is based in Kaliachak. You can find us at Alipur Mominpara, c/o Akmal Hossain. It’s a busy part of the district. We mostly do micro services, which basically means we help people with small financial things or getting small businesses started. A lot of folks around here have good ideas but not much money to get going. So, we sit with them and see what can be done. Our office is small and usually has a few people waiting outside. We try to be as quick as we can, but these things take time. We have to check everything carefully. It’s mostly just sitting at a desk and going through numbers and plans. It’s not exciting work, but it matters to the people who come to see us. We’ve seen a lot of small shops and projects get off the ground from this room. That feels good. We don’t have fancy furniture or a big sign outside. Most people find us because a friend told them where we are. We just keep things simple and honest. If we can help, we do. If we can’t, we tell them why. That’s just how we operate here in Kaliachak. Akmal’s house is always full of people and we have a small porch where people wait. It gets dusty on the road outside so we are always cleaning the desks. We are just trying to help our neighbors get a foot on the ladder.
