Tirhoot Butter Concern

Our place is at P221/1, Strand Bank Road, right beside the North Port Thana. If you know the area near the Kolkata port, you know it’s always crowded with trucks and the smell of the river. We deal with butter, and being near the port makes things easier for transport but it’s a tough environment. The building is old and the walls are thick. We start work very early in the morning, often when it’s still dark out. That’s the best time to handle the products before the midday heat kicks in. There’s a lot of heavy lifting involved. We move tubs and boxes all day long. The floor is usually a bit slippery, so you have to be careful where you step. It’s a noisy spot with the police station next door and the heavy traffic on Strand Bank Road. We don’t have any fancy office space. Just a small corner with a desk and a ledger where we keep track of everything. The staff here are all locals who know the docks like the back of their hands. We don’t bother with big slogans or anything. We just make sure the butter is handled right and gets to the customers. It’s a messy, honest business. The humidity in Kolkata is no joke, but we’ve all grown used to it. We just keep our heads down and work until the job is done for the day.
