The Kenilworth

Over at 1 and 2 Little Russel Street, you’ll find The Kenilworth. It’s an old part of the city, and the building has a lot of character that you don't really see in the newer parts of town. We spend a lot of time maintaining the place because older buildings always have something that needs fixing, whether it’s a squeaky door or a light fixture that’s acting up. The street outside can get pretty cramped with cars, but that’s just how this neighborhood is. Inside, it’s a bit quieter, though you can still hear the city hum. We have people coming in and out at all hours, so there is always someone at the front desk or moving luggage around. It’s a lot of physical work, and the staff is constantly on the move. We don’t go for that polished, corporate look where everyone looks like a robot. We’re just regular people trying to do a decent job and making sure the rooms are ready when they need to be. Sometimes the laundry takes longer than expected, or a delivery is late, and we just have to figure it out on the fly. It’s not a perfect operation, but we put in the hours and try to keep things running smoothly. Most of us have been working here for years, so we know every corner of this place like it’s our own home.
