The Ffort - A Radisson

We are tucked away down in Sarisa, which is quite a drive from the main city. Most people get here by following the road out to Post Bag 1. The Ffort is a big old building, and it takes a lot of work to keep a place this size running day and night. Being out here in the countryside means it’s usually quiet, except when we have a big group staying over for a few days. The structure itself has a lot of history, and you can feel that when you walk through the hallways and look at the old walls. We have local staff from around the Sarisa area who have been with us for years. They know all the little quirks of the building, like which doors stick in the humidity or where the best breeze comes through in the afternoon. It’s a bit of a different pace than what you find in Kolkata. We deal with the usual stuff like power cuts or fixing the plumbing, just like any other large property. It isn't always perfect, but we do our best to keep things moving. People usually come here when they want to see the river or just get away from the noise for a weekend. It's a large place with plenty of rooms and high ceilings, so there is always something that needs fixing or cleaning. We just focus on the daily tasks and making sure everyone who stays here has what they need for the night.
