The Biome

Our place, The Biome, is located at Ad 60 Block in Salt Lake City, right in Sector 1. If you are looking for us, we are directly opposite the Axis Bank, which makes it pretty easy for people to find the building. Salt Lake is a bit more planned and quieter than the rest of Kolkata, but it still has its own busy rhythms. We have set up our space to handle various biological and environmental projects. It is a bit of a mix between an office and a workspace where we can actually get our hands dirty when needed. The interior is quite simple. We didn't spend much on interior designers, choosing instead to put our resources into the equipment we use every day. You will often see us huddled around a table discussing some new data or planning out a field visit. It gets a bit messy with all the maps and samples lying around, but that is just how we work best. We have some plants near the windows that we try to keep alive, though sometimes we forget to water them when things get really busy. People stop by occasionally to ask what we do, and we just tell them we are working on local environmental stuff. We don't have a big corporate structure or fancy titles. It is just a small group of us trying to do something useful from this corner of Salt Lake.
