Taj Palace New Delhi

We are over on Snuff Mill Street in Belgharia, which is in Kolkata. It is a bit of an interesting spot for a place with New Delhi in the name, but that is just how the name ended up being. The building at number 11 is where we handle all of our daily business. It is a busy street with people moving back and forth all day long. Inside, things are a bit more organized, though it can get quite hectic when we have a lot of guests or events to manage. We spend a lot of time making sure the rooms are ready and the kitchen is running. It is not always perfect; sometimes a lightbulb goes out or a delivery is late, but we just fix it and keep going. The staff here has been together for a while now, so we know how each other works. It is a lot of standing on your feet and talking to people from many different places. Some days we have travelers who are just passing through and need a place to rest. Other times, it is local families having a small get-together. The street outside is full of shops and vendors, so it is never really quiet until very late at night. We have a small lobby area where people sit and wait for their keys. The carpet there is a little worn out from all the feet walking over it over the years. We just try to keep everything tidy for whoever shows up.
