Swarnamani Residents Welfare Association

Swarnamani Residents Welfare Association is basically just us looking after our own neighborhood at 163B Manicktala Main Road, right by the E.M. Bypass. Being so close to the main road means there is always something going on, usually noise or construction. We formed this association because we realized that if we didn't look after the building and the surrounding area ourselves, nobody else would. We deal with the boring stuff like making sure the water pumps are working and that the trash gets picked up on time. It is not a professional management company. It is just a bunch of us who live here and take turns doing the paperwork. We meet in the evenings when everyone is back from work. Sometimes the meetings get a bit loud because everyone has their own opinion about the budget or the repairs. We don't have any polished speeches or big corporate goals. We just want a place that is safe and clean for our families. We try to help out the older folks who have lived here for decades and might need a bit of extra help with their chores. It’s a lot of work for no pay, but it makes the place feel more like a community and less like just a block of flats. We aren't perfect at it, but we do our best for each other.
