Susrut Welfare Foundation

Susrut Welfare Foundation is based out of the Sarsuna Satellite Township Housing Estate. Specifically, we are in Building Type H-2/80 in Phase 1. If you know this part of Kolkata, down in Parganas South, you know it’s a bit of a journey from the main city center. The estate is a quiet place most days. We chose to be here because it’s where we can actually focus on local needs without all the noise of the bigger streets. The office isn't anything special to look at, just a regular space in the housing complex. We spend our mornings checking through what’s come in and seeing what needs to be sorted for the week. Sometimes it feels like we’re tucked away, but we like the community feel of the township. It’s mostly families and people going about their lives around us. We don't have big flashy signs or a reception desk. Usually, someone is just sitting at a desk with a cup of tea, looking over some documents. It can get a bit humid in the summer months, but we make do. Being in Phase 1 means we’ve seen the area change a bit over time. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing from here. It’s a simple setup for a simple purpose. No need for anything more than that. We just focus on our tasks and get through the day-to-day requirements without making any fuss.
